David Ezell has joined the Conexxus team as director of new initiatives. Ezell will lead new initiatives to accelerate the industry effort to embrace the “API economy,” through development of new and the conversion of existing standards to a more modern architecture. In its road map investigations, Conexxus has determined that extensive and accelerated use of APIs (application programming interface) will prolong the value of our legacy systems and at the same time, enable our industry to innovate quickly to embrace new services and business models.

Ezell has spent decades within the convenience industry as a technology architect, thought leader and industry representative to the World Wide Web Consortium. In addition, the expertise, generosity and leadership Ezell demonstrated in his two decades in technology leadership roles at Verifone will greatly help Conexxus members—and the entire industry—take a leadership position in the new frontier of convenience retail.
