Tell Your Story to Capitol Hill

Tell Your Story to Capitol Hill

February 2021   minute read

Every day, members of Congress work on legislation that can have a real impact on you and your business. The annual NACS Day on the Hill, formerly known as the Government Relations Conference, teaches you how to effectively advocate for your business and brings you face to face with policymakers. The conference, taking place March 23-24, gives you the opportunity to explain your business and share how policies will directly affect your operations and the convenience and fuel retailing industry.

This year, NACS Day on the Hill is happening virtually. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Capitol Hill isn’t open to visitors. However, lawmakers and their staff are still having virtual meetings with constituents.

As a Virtual Day on the Hill attendee, you’ll learn about the pressing issues affecting our industry, and you’ll be able to do it from the comfort of your home or office.

Before you meet with lawmakers, NACS will prepare you with a training video and briefing materials for each issue. During this General Session webinar, you’ll learn more about the issues that you’ll be discussing with members of Congress and their staff. The webinar also will allow you to get to know the industry peers you’ll be teamed with for each virtual Hill meeting. We are dedicated to training you to be a strong advocate.

The team at NACS:

  • schedules your congressional meetings and pairs you with other convenience retailers and experienced advocates;
  • prepares you with pre-reads, briefing materials and training on how to participate in a successful virtual congressional meeting;
  • provides you with all the information you need to share with your elected officials; and
  • equips you with knowledge and skills you can apply immediately back home.
